How to install Windows fonts Not sure which format you should use? See chapter Font Formats on page 3 to find out. Installing TrueType fonts System requirements: * A Microsoft Windows (3.1, 95, 98 or NT) * At least 640K of RAM * Any Windows-supported printer. If you have Windows 95 or later or Windows NT4 or later, you can use the Font Installer application on the CD: * Click on "My computer" * Double-click on the CD-Rom drive (it should be called "EFF2CD" with the fonts icon). * A window with the list of fonts and their samples will open. * You can select and install as many fonts as you like, but it would be sensible to install only the fonts you are going to use, otherwise the font list will become very long. * On a subsequent use of the Font installer, the installed fonts will be marked. If you have earlier version of Windows, you will need to install TrueType fonts using the TrueType font installer built into the Windows. * Double-click on the Control Panel icon (should be in the Main window). * Double-click the Fonts icon in the Control Panel window. * In the Fonts window, click on the TrueType button and ensure that the Enable TrueType option is on. * Double-click Add on the TrueType menu. * Select the drive (usually D:) for the EFF2 CD and choose TrueType/Fonts directory. * Ensure that the Copy Fonts to Windows Directory button is on. * Select the fonts to be installed and click on OK. Installing PostScript fonts System requirements: * A PC running MS-DOS 3.1 (or later) or Microsoft Windows 3.0 (or later) * Adobe Type Manager (ATM) software * At least 640K of RAM * Any PostScript compatible printer. To install PostScript fonts you need to use the ATM (Adobe Type Manager) panel. The fonts on this CD are in the PostScript directory subdivided for convenience into alphabetical subdirectories. For example, if you wish to install EFF New Swiss fonts: * Load ATM application (if not running already) * In the ATM panel select option "Add..." * In the window "directories" there will be a (very) long list * Go to the bottom of that list and select the CD drive (D: or E: depending on which drive the CD is in) * Select [PostScript] from the list of directories on the CD and double-click on it * Select directory [N] (for New Swiss) * From the list of "Available Fonts" select the fonts you wish to install and click on "ADD" button. * The fonts will be installed on your hard disc. * Depending on the ATM version, the fonts will be either available for use immediately or after computer has been reset. You can repeat the installation for as many fonts as you need. You can also de-install any od the already installed fonts by clicking on the Remove button.
